Feces Color - Get the Facts

Do you wonder what feces essentially are? Around 75% of feces is basically water, though this relies on each individual. Waters get absorbed from fecal material when it goes through an individual's large intestine. Therefore, the longer it takes for you to go to the bathroom, the drier your feces will be. 25% of feces is made out of dead bacteria, which assists in food digestion. Feces are clear indicators of someone's gastrointestinal tract health. So, how do you know if your feces are healthy?

Healthy feces are golden brown in color thanks to the formed pigments by the gut's bacteria and the liver's bile. You want to make sure that your feces color is ordinary since this may tell you a lot about what happens inside your gastrointestinal tract. They also form into a long shape, similar to an unripe banana, and should be practically odorless. So, what does it mean if your feces color is different?

Sometimes, you will not see golden brown feces in the toilet. Here are many bits of understanding of what other feces colors might mean:

- Black feces occur when dried blood exists due to internal bleeding of the higher digestive system. If you have black feces, you should see your doctor straight away.

- really dark brown feces may be a result from drinking wine the prior night or from consuming too much salt or too few veg.

- Yellow feces could result from a condition called giardia, which is an especially perilous infection that could spread onto others. It could also spring from a condition called Gilbert's syndrome. You need to see a doctor, if you doggedly see yellow feces.

- Green feces are most typical in babies, particularly after they consume food for the first time. Children might end up with blue or green feces due to ingesting some food coloring or from particular sicknesses. Adults might also get green feces if they consume plenty of leafy green vegetables or any food that has green food coloring. Light green feces might be suggestive of too much sugar in one's diet. If bile salts go through the gut without changing, green feces could also appear together with diarrhea. If this is one of your concerns, go and see your doctor.

- Pale or white feces appear after someone drinks barium sulfate - something that patients need to consume after getting digestive system X-rays. Pale or white feces might also indicate liver or gallbladder issues, though.

- Bright red feces might indicate active bleeding, probably due to hemorrhoids. A magenta feces color might appear from consuming extremely red food colorising and red foods like beets.
