Diarrhea - Natural Home Remedies That You Ought to Know

Diarrhea can have many responsible reasons. Sometimes it can be a symptom of a more serious condition, other times it is caused by food poisoning, bacteria, abuse of food, alcohol or caffeine. Whatever its causes are, when affected by it, you probably need an effective home remedy for diarrhea that acts fast and provides relief. Sometimes diarrhea can also be accompanied by other symptoms like nausea, vomiting or cramps. It is the body's way to get rid of toxins, but it can also signalize a serious condition if stools come with blood or mucus.

Ginger is one of the well-known home remedies for diarrhea. Ginger juice should be mixed with boiling water and half a cup needs to be consumed hourly. Curd mixed with bananas or mango juice is also effective. Another way of ending diarrhea is to make a paste of lemon, without removing the seeds, add same salt to it and consume it a few times a day. If you are looking for fast relief, blend some red radish, put a cup of cold milk over them and also add half a teaspoon of cornstarch. After eating this mixture, diarrhea should stop in about an hour. If you consider it necessary, repeat this procedure after a few hours. It is also recommended to boil some rice until it is fully cooked and then to eat it. Don't throw away the water in which you have boiled the rice, but drink it. Grated papaya boiled in water and then consumed is also effective.

Other home remedies for diarrhea include a mixture of lemon juice, ginger juice and pepper. Take a table spoon once in a while. Charcoal is a very popular home remedy for diarrhea and it is also helpful in nausea and vomiting. It does a good job in absorbing the toxins from the body and it also detoxifies kidneys and liver. Four tablets of charcoal need to be administered every hour until diarrhea ends.

Patients with diarrhea should pay attention to the fact that this condition dehydrates the body and, along with the home remedies for diarrhea, they should also make sure to drink plenty of liquids. Water to which small amount of salt and sugar were added is recommended to be consumed to avoid dehydrating and to replace the lost fluids.

Most home remedies for diarrhea are efficient, but if the condition gets worse, the sufferer should see a physician in order to check if diarrhea is not the symptom of another disease.
