Imagine going about your daily duties with pain, itching and a burning sensation in your rectum. All you can think about is the condition of your southern region. Many people suffer from hemorrhoids and the symptoms above cause them much discomfort.
Hemorrhoids are inflamed and swollen veins that protrude out of the anus or, in some cases, stay in the rectum and bleed. These inflamed veins are typically caused when high pressure is exerted in the anal and pelvic area. There are a number of factors that contribute to hemorrhoids:
*Constipation. (Hard stool can exert high pressure when you try to defecate).
*Diarrhea.(Many people don't seem to understand how diarrhea can cause pressure on the anal area. When you have diarrhea, a lot of time is spent on the toilet bowl. Although the stool is watery, the strain alone from pushing causes pressure).
*Pregnancy
*Anal sex
*Poor diet
*Lack of exercise
Now that you know what hemorrhoids are and some of the causes, you can take measure to alleviate the above symptoms. First you need to decide whether you want to handle it medically or the find a natural way. In the medical way, you will be given laxatives to soften the stool and/or pain relievers to alleviate the discomfort. If the hemorrhoids are bleeding you will get some medication for that. The problem with medicine is the side effects and the medication effect is short lived.
On the other hand, the natural way does not have side effects but it will take some time before you see results. In order to decide which method is best for you, the severity and the cause of your hemorrhoids needs to be determined. Since we are all different, the natural way may not work for you but on someone else it will. If you know that constipation was the cause, try increasing your fluid intake, eating high fiber foods or engaging in some form of exercise. There is a remedy that works for almost everyone and, in some instances, can completely eliminate hemorrhoids from occurring.
