Babies Safety - Tips For New Parents

As new parents, most of you seem to be very protective to our newly born baby. You are afraid if something can happen to him/her. Basically, if you are at your home, you should not worry too much because it's your safest place. However, ensuring your baby safe is very important. First thing first is screening people into coming your house smoking or doing any drugs taking, anyone, no exception, including your spouse.

To make sure that you are safe in your own house, be sure to lock all the doors while you are only with your baby alone. This is critical especially if you live in a big city. Buying home safety equipments is also a very recommended action. Protect your baby from anything that can hurt him/her. For example, close all the electric sockets while not in use. Lock all the doors, windows, cupboards so that your baby can not open it.

You also should watch your pet if you have one at home. You surely do not want it harm your baby, even though to you it always be gentle. Not only a pet can harm your baby by their triggered action (like it bites your baby because it is upset when you baby suddenly touch it) but also by their biological belongings. Like cat's fur may cause an allergic effect to your baby or unhygienic body of pet can cause a severe diarrhea if your baby touches it.

When you put your baby to sleep, make sure that he/she sleeps on his/her back, to prevent a crib death. Crib death is a death which mostly suffered by babies due to suffocating during their sleep. You should also keep loose blanket out of crib. Because the crib is supposed to be a place to sleep, not to play. Your baby's crib should have fences that are dense enough to prevent him/her from escaping, slipping or falling to the floor.

When your baby starts to crawl, you'd better get a walker soon, so that he/she can learn to walk right in time. If you house has steps, make sure that the steps have a gate (upward) which can be locked. You easily understand that this is to prevent him/her from falling downward. Remember, baby is to be kept out of danger but your pet also needs to kept away from your baby. Use the gate as well to keep it away from your baby.

When your baby starts to walk, keep him/her away from sharp edge of table/desk or of any other furniture. You should also put anything hot/sharp/hard away from his/her distance, so that he/she can not reach it. Your valuable belonging should also be kept in proper place, you know why. Last, but of course not least (since many things we can do to protect our babies), keep away small particles from his/hr reach because he/she tends to swallow it which seriously harm him/her.
