A good place to start is to ask yourself if you have a house pet, particularly a dog or a cat. If the answer is yes, the chances are good that some one in the home has a parasite. Even if the animal is on heart worm medication, it is possible for the animal to have round worms and for those round worms to get picked up by the humans in the house. Round worms behave in humans much the same way they do in dogs and cats. They inhabit the intestinal tract and then sometimes spread to the heart and other organs.
Another factor to consider is how much contact young children have with possible sources of contamination. Pre-schools, day care centers, public bathrooms, these all can be sources of contact with parasites. Pinworms are especially easy for young children to contract. Between one out of five and one out of six children has pinworms. The interesting fact is that we in the United States don't feel as though parasites are as big of a challenge to our health as they actually are. They are fairly easy to become infected with, and somewhat challenging to get rid of once contracted. What's more, they are often highly contagious and easy to spread once acquired.
People in other countries around the world embark on de-worming and other anti-parasite practices as a component of wellness and general health. In the United States, the medical community does not often address this issue. Parasites may account for a huge percentage of long term chronic illness, and the medical community looks past this. So, what are some ways you can find out if you or anyone in your family has a parasite? The bottom line (no pun intended) is to take a good look at feces. Yep, I said it. Poop. A lot can be determined by the quality of elimination. Here's what you are looking for: shaped like a banana, texture between toothpaste and a banana, medium brown, and somewhat buoyant.
Here are some signs that there might be parasites at play: very light color, stringy texture, very thin diameter, bubbles in the water, mucous in the stool, difficulty with elimination, infrequent elimination, and painful elimination. If you or a family member is noticing any of these factors, it is a good idea to move on to the next step. I advise all of my wellness coaching clients to develop an internal way of gathering wisdom and formulating plans of action. At this point it would be a good idea to quiet the mind for a moment and listen to any information that might come to you in the way of a sudden impulse to do something, a quiet voice in your mind, or a general knowingness. We are all healers and capable of healing ourselves. The wisdom to do this is in each one of us. See if you get a general knowingness about: "yes parasite", or "no parasite".
If you have a sense that there are Parasites present, or if you are thinking you are paranoid and are creating the feeling that there are parasites present, it would be advisable to move on to the next step. A parasite cleanse may be in order. There are scores of pre-made cleanses on the market. One that I have had personal experience with is a cleanse by the The Life Tree company called "Purify". Or you can eat a variety of foods that are known to aid in parasite removal. Pumpkin seeds, raw garlic, pineapple, shredded carrot and papaya seeds are some examples. Some herbs that are helpful in eliminating parasites are Green Hull, Black Walnut Hull, Thyme, Fennel, Garlic, Pumpkin Seeds, Diatomaceaous Earth, Cloves, Goldenseal, Wormwood, Sage, Grape Seed Extract, Cranberry Powder, Peppermint Leaf, Male Fern, Gentian Root, Hyssop Leaf, Cumin Seed, Fennel Seed and Oregano. There is also and herb called quassia that when made into a tea, can be very effective in eliminating parasites. These are ideas for you to consider. Ultimately you must make the decisions for your health and the health of your family. It is always good to consult a doctor or health care provider and ask any questions you may have.
Another effective strategy is zapping. The term zapper refers to an electronic generator that produces a square-wave signal. Dr. Hulda Clark has done some great research on parasites and has developed a device that emits a specific frequency that is not tolerated by foreign pathogens. These pathogens can be bacteria, virus, or parasites. The frequencies give the body a slight boost in energy and yet cause the pathogens to move out or die.
Purifying the diet is also extremely helpful in getting rid of parasites. Sugar creates an environment for diseases of all kinds. Highly processed food and an overreliance upon meat and dairy also cause the body to be more susceptible to illness. All of these foods cause the body's pH to be acidic, and the more acidic the body's pH is, the more sickness will remain in the body. In general, raw fresh fruits and vegetable enable the body's pH to be more alkaline. Alkalinity is one of the biggest keys to maintaining great health. Lastly, there are pharmaceutical drugs available that are effective on parasites. Often a stool sample is required and then medicine can be prescribed.
Ultimately your health is in your hands and the more you can do to safe guard against illness, the better you will feel. Addressing parasites is a great way to factor out a whole series of health challenges. Keep in mind that it is not hopeless. There are many things you can do to eliminate parasites from your life and claim your best health ever!
