Dark green poop may be an indication of a bigger problem. About 75% water, when it turns green, it is usually an indication of something internal that is processing the food you eat differently. Normal stools are brown, so when it turns green, you should take notice, and heed this advice to determine whether there is something very wrong...
There are quite a few reasons why dark green poop may appear. One of the biggest reasons is due to something you ate. A large increase in the consumption of leafy vegetables is something that can easily turn your poop into a green color. Don't think that if you ate a salad the night before that the color should change, however. For the most part, a very large increase in the amount that you eat warrants a change, so unless you've dramatically changed your diet, that shouldn't be the case.
Another dramatic dietary change is a large amount of iron or sugar. Both of these can cause your stool to change to be dark green, and sometimes even black. It may not be absolutely clear whether you've increased the amount of iron or sugar in your diet, so you should take some time to take a look at what you've been eating and adjust your diet accordingly.
If the dark green poop is accompanied by symptoms of nausea, fever, constipation, diarrhea, weight gain, you may be suffering from a digestive system disease. You should either look into flushing the toxins out of your system by using a colon cleanse.
