Cleaning Parasites From Your Colon

No one wants to face the idea that they could have parasites in their bodies. It's just too gross to consider! However, the reality is that as many as 90% of the people in America will develop complications from parasites in their life time. That's because almost everyone has parasites. In fact, The World Health Organization (WHO) ranked parasites as the sixth most dangerous cause of disease in humans.

It's easy to dismiss the idea of having parasites as being a condition of those in developing countries or of people in the US who are from much poorer conditions that the average middle class. The truth is, we are all at risk of coming in contact with parasites every day. We can become infected when we eat meat that has not been thoroughly cooked. Exposure to some animal feces is also a risk. With all the recalls and scares of contaminated vegetables and fruits, we know they carry a risk as well. Water may also contain parasites, depending on its source and method of treatment for purification.

Parasites that commonly exist in the human body may be microscopic in size, or as much as several feet in length. Nematodes, or roundworms, include pinworms which are among the most common, including those that infect children. If one child that has played in a group of children has pinworms, it is almost a guarantee that they all have them due to their ease of spreading from one person to another.

Different types of parasites cause different types of symptoms. If infected, you may develop allergies to foods. Bloating, as well as gas or cramping may result. Some types of parasites reduce your red blood cells and cause anemia. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, as well as other flu-like symptoms, including fever often occur. That is why it is so often misdiagnosed when a person is infected with parasites. Symptoms often resemble those of other illnesses.

The practice of colon cleansing has become a self-cure for ridding oneself of these parasites. Using a colon cleanser for parasite cleansing may seem like a reasonable approach, but before you decide to try it, it is advisable to get an accurate diagnosis.

A parasite cleansing involves using fiber pills, sometimes herbal, anti-parasitic treatments, and detoxifying agents that are said to rid your body of build up feces, food, and toxins that have formed in your digestive system. Based on the theory that these substances remain in your digestive system and poison your whole body, cleaning it out will improve health and give an overall sense of well-being. By using a colon cleanser, you can wash out all these toxins and the parasites that we are all supposed to have.

A parasite cleansing isn't a one-day treatment. They often take weeks of using the system during which time people report all types of "things" passing out of their bodies. Professionals don't all agree on the benefits of using these treatments. Not all parasites complete their life cycle in the digestive tract. Some may produce eggs in other parts of your body that only reach the digestive tract after maturing. That means washing them out of the colon isn't going to rid you of your problem. If you have symptoms of a parasitic infection, make sure that's what is causing your symptoms before relying on a parasite cleansing.
