Symptoms of Kennel Cough - Why Going Green is Your Best Option

The symptoms of kennel cough can be seen a few weeks after contracting the disease. It is an upper respiratory disease which affects dogs and cats. Common places for dogs to get kennel cough are dog shows, kennels, and shelters. When there are large groups of dogs together, it is a common ground for this disease to spread, as it is very contagious.

Common symptoms of kennel cough are an intermittent cough every couple of minutes. Animals also get runny noses and watery eyes. However, their level of activity is not usually affected, nor is their appetite.

This disease will usually last one or two weeks, and may last up to three weeks. In most cases you can comfort your pet by keeping him warm and hydrated, just like you would treat a common cold. He may cough up phlegm which is light or creamy colored. However, if your pet starts coughing up green or dark gold mucous, it is time to get treatment by a veterinary. These are signs of a secondary bacterial infection which could turn into pneumonia and cause the death of your pet.

Symptoms of kennel cough are prevented mostly by administering the bordatella vaccine by conventional veterinaries. However, there is more and more evidence of the harmful and life-threatening effects of this vaccine. Some of the side effects that are seen are vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, lameness and even death. Moreover, it does not always prevent the onset of the disease. So this vaccine, which is part of the common regimen that is given to your pet, is not only causing a lot of damage to the organs of your pet, but it may not even work.

As with many other vaccines and medications which are given to our animals, we need to know how they are affecting the immune systems of our pets and shortening their lives. Many of the prescribed medications used by conventional veterinarians are full of synthetic chemicals which are very toxic. Our pets have to work so hard to get rid of these poisons, that they become weakened and more prone to contract other diseases in the future. Many cause life threatening diseases, such as cancer, which is one of the most common causes of death in animals.

You can take charge of your pet's health with hundreds of pet home remedies to prevent and heal illnesses. The best way to care for your pet is to build up his immune system so he will be able to fight off diseases. You may have many of these home remedies at home already. This is the best prevention and the best care you can give your pet, and you will probably save tons of money in veterinary bills.
